"So what's really in it for us?"
– Quantitative prognoses for search engine generated traffic figures are
really anybody's guess: too many different factors not necessarily related to
search engines proper involved here to ever say for sure.
E.g. if your "widget" product happens to turn trendy over night because of
some prime media coverage, your search engine generated hits may well explode
over night – provided your site has achieved a decent ranking prior to these
events, of course. If it doesn't, you're simply out of luck, period.
